Savannah Guthrie’s sister, Annie Guthrie, and her brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, have been seen publicly for the first time since the mysterious disappearance of Savannah and Annie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.

Photographs captured on Tuesday show Annie and Tommaso keeping a low profile as they drove away from their home in Tucson, Arizona. Annie, attempting to avoid recognition, wore a pink hoodie pulled up to cover her face, while Tommaso similarly obscured his appearance with a sweatshirt pulled up to his nose and dark sunglasses.

The outing marks the first sighting of any family members since Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing. According to updated reports, Tommaso was the last person to see Nancy. He had dropped her off at her home around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday evening after a family dinner, correcting earlier statements that indicated Annie was the last to see her mother.

Though it remains unclear exactly when Tommaso joined the Guthrie family through marriage, Annie referred to him as her husband in a 2013 interview with “Women’s Quarterly Conversation.” She praised him as her “greatest teacher,” noting his talents in manifestation and poetry. Tommaso, originally from Italy, shares a child with Annie. Annie herself is also a poet and author of the 2015 poetry collection, “The Good Dark.”

Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has sparked widespread concern. The alarm was first raised when she failed to appear at church the following Sunday morning. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos later confirmed that Nancy’s home was being treated as a crime scene. On Monday, The Los Angeles Times reported that blood was found at the scene, alongside evidence suggesting forced entry.

Additional footage aired by News Nation on Tuesday showed what appeared to be a trail of blood leading from Nancy’s front door, further deepening the mystery.

As the FBI intensifies its search efforts, Savannah Guthrie has stepped away from her duties on NBC’s “Today” show and withdrawn from hosting the upcoming Winter Olympics in Italy. She released a heartfelt statement on Monday, expressing hope for the “safe return” of her beloved mother and asking for prayers from her followers. Her husband, Michael Feldman, also stated there were no significant updates as of Tuesday.

While Savannah and her brother, Camron Guthrie, have not appeared publicly during this crisis, Sheriff Nanos assured the public that Nancy’s family is united and supporting one another during this difficult time. He also noted their full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

Authorities now believe Nancy may have been abducted. A chilling ransom note was reportedly sent to a local Arizona news station, describing in detail the clothing Nancy was wearing and her home environment before she vanished. Given Nancy’s medical conditions—including high blood pressure, a pacemaker, and other cardiac issues—investigators say it’s unlikely she could have wandered far on her own. The urgency surrounding her case continues to grow as time passes without resolution.

Officials and loved ones remain hopeful for Nancy’s safe return.
